Club Tread - Health, medical, and science updates, fitness ...

Before registered nurse Kelly Tucker joined an employee walking program called Club Tread last year, she said she was falling asleep on her couch at home by 8 p.m.

?I became a slug,? she said. ?I knew I needed to get in shape.?

Now in its fourth year at Kaweah Delta Health Care District, Club Tread gets employees in the club free pedometers and a friendly competition.

About 900 employees out of 3,500 signed up for the six-week wellness program that started May 16, said John Tyndal, director of community outreach.

?Our goal is 10,000 steps a day,? he said.

Club Tread targets the employee who is looking for an easy activity to increase his or her fitness level, he said.
