TORONTO?Air Canada failed to reach an agreement with the union representing the airline's sales and customer-service agents, triggering a walkout early Tuesday morning by some 3,800 call-center and airport check-in and gate agents.
The strike won't affect flights, the airline said. But it advised travelers to obtain their boarding passes online, arrive early to the airport and avoid checking in bags, if possible.
A spokeswoman for the Canadian Auto Workers said the union and airline failed to settle differences over pension security before a midnight Monday ...
