Armstrong 911 caller: My friend hanged himself

These calls are never easy to listen, and this is no exception.

The Los Angeles Fire Department today released audio from the 911 call placed by a friend of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'" star Russell Armstrong, after finding his suicidal friend's limp body hanging in a guest house.

Though Russell's estranged wife Taylor Armstrong did not personally make the call, she is heard sobbing and exclaiming in the background of the nearly 7-minute exchange, for which her daughter was also present.

"My friend just hanged himself, do you understand?" the unidentified phoner, a friend of Russell's, told operators on the call. "Come over here right now, stop asking questions and come over here right now."

His exchange with the emergency personnel was peppered with asides he made to Taylor, standing and clearly heard sobbing nearby, in attempts to comfort her.

"Come here, Taylor. Come here, Taylor. It's all right. It's all right. There's nothing we can do."

The friend informed operators that they did not cut down Russell's body, whose death certificate also released this week revealed hung himself with an electrical cord, but told the operator that "there's nothing we can do. Please come as soon as possible."

"We just found...he has not been responding to anybody for the last few days and we just came up to the house and we finally went in...and that's it...Oh my God, oh my God. Oh my God, oh my God."

In the background of the call, Taylor is heard first exclaiming, "It's not all right," then, soon after, "I need my psychiatrist."

Taylor's 5-year-old daughter with Russell, Kennedy, was also present when they found the body, though per the exchange, did not ever see the body and was not aware of what had happened.

"Taylor, have her go away as soon as possible," the friend said. "She's fine, she's fine, she doesn't know...You know what Taylor, have your daughter go away please."

As for how they found their friend, the caller explained, "He's basically in the back. He locked his door, the friend went over through the back window and saw him hanging there. And we don't know how long it's been because the last time we all saw him was Friday."

In their report last week, the coroner confirmed that Russell had been dead for more than a day before he was found.
